Well of course, both praterite and imperfect are used on what someone “used” to do. they are both non-present perfect past tense. the distinction, as I understand it, is if we have information on the details of the action or not.
“I talked” period verse “I talked to cows at the house.
Habalaba vs hablé a la vaca a la casa.
As far as I have read both are what someone used to do but the difference seems to be the specifics.
if I am wrong then what difference is there between hablaba and hablé? Both translate to “I spoke”.
-hablar used for the simplicity of the word-

Sentence info.
The sentence “Practicábamos yoga todas las tardes” is formed in the following way:
1. “Practicábamos” is the first-person plural imperfect indicative form of the verb “practicar,” which means “to practice.” The imperfect tense is used to describe ongoing or habitual past actions, which fits the context of describing an activity that was regularly done in the past.
2. “Yoga” is a noun and remains unchanged as it is a practice and therefore has the same name in Spanish.
3. “Todas las tardes” means “every afternoon.” It is a time expression consisting of “todas” (every/all) + “las” (the, feminine plural) + “tardes” (afternoons).
To remember the structure of such sentences in Spanish, you can keep in mind that time expressions like “todas las tardes” often come at the beginning or end of the sentence, while the subject, if included, comes before the verb, which in this case is in the imperfect tense to reflect the habitual action in the past.
