Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy covers the LangLandia and Questly apps and the langlandia.app website (together, the “Service”), provided by Language Unlimited LLC (“we”, “us”). It explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can have it deleted.

By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. Terms used in this policy have the same meaning as in our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, the username you choose, and, if you sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, the identifier and name those providers share with us. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us.

Content and progress you create in the app. Your game progress (character, level, items, currencies, quests, party membership and rankings) and, in Questly, the tasks, dailies, checklists, notes and metrics you enter are stored on our servers so they can sync between your devices and, where you choose, be shown to other players (for example your username, level and character in parties, rankings and the Challenge Tower). Photos you attach to Questly tasks are stored in our cloud storage and are visible only to your account.

Health data (Questly, optional). If you turn on step counting or sleep tracking, Questly reads steps and sleep sessions from Apple Health, Health Connect or the phone’s step sensor. These readings stay on your device and are never uploaded; only whether your daily step or sleep goal was met is recorded in your history, like any other daily. You can turn this off at any time in Settings, and the app never reads health data unless you opt in.

Purchases. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We receive a purchase receipt and the product bought so we can deliver it and support you; we never receive your card or bank details.

Log and diagnostic data. When the app runs or crashes we collect diagnostic information through third party services (device model, operating system version, app version, the IP address of the request, the time of use, and which screens or features were used). We use this to keep the Service working and to improve it.

Support messages. If you email us we keep the message and your email address so we can answer you.

How we use information

To provide, sync and secure your account and progress across devices.
To run the online features you take part in (parties, rankings, challenges, referrals).
To deliver purchases and detect fraud or cheating.
To find and fix crashes and to understand how the Service is used.
To answer your support requests.

We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers

We use third party companies to operate the Service. They receive only the information needed to do their job and may not use it for anything else:

Google Firebase (authentication, cloud storage, analytics and crash reporting)
Google Play and the Apple App Store (payments and subscriptions)
Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple (optional sign-in methods)
Hosting providers that run our servers and database

How to delete your data

You can delete your account and the data associated with it at any time, from inside either app:

Questly: open the More tab, then Settings, then “Delete account”, and confirm by typing DELETE.
LangLandia: open the menu, choose Log Out, then “Delete account”, and confirm.

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, email address, username, game progress, items and currencies, tasks and dailies, attached photos, and your party membership, invitations and referral links. Deletion takes effect immediately on our servers; copies in backups are removed within 30 days. The only records we keep are the purchase receipts we are required to retain for accounting and fraud prevention, and they are no longer linked to a usable account. Deleting your account does not refund purchases and does not cancel a subscription; cancel subscriptions in your Apple or Google account settings.

If you cannot access the app, or you want specific data removed without closing your account (for example individual tasks or photos, which you can also delete yourself inside Questly), email us at langlandiagame@gmail.com with the subject “Data deletion request” from the email address on the account. We will confirm your identity and complete the request within 30 days.

You may also ask us, at the same address, for a copy of the personal information we hold about you or to correct it.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, or ask us to delete your data, it is removed as described above. Diagnostic and analytics data is kept in aggregate form only.

Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections to our servers. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Links to other sites

The Service may contain links to other sites that we do not operate. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content or privacy practices of any third party site or service, and we advise you to review their privacy policies.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed at anyone under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has given us personal information, we delete it from our servers immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top; changes take effect when they are posted. We advise you to review this page periodically.
